Celebrating Sustainability: Waste to Art Initiative Wins Best Circular Economy Business Award in Malawi

We are thrilled to announce that our Waste to Art initiative has been awarded the prestigious title of Best Circular Economy Business in Malawi! This recognition highlights the incredible impact our project is having on both the environment and local communities.

Through the Waste to Art initiative, we’re turning everyday plastic and paper waste into stunning, one-of-a-kind art pieces. From beautifully crafted jewelry and unique tables and chairs to decorative wall hangings, vases, and flowers, we’re not just giving waste a second life — we’re transforming it into meaningful, functional art that’s as environmentally friendly as it is beautiful.

But the impact of this initiative goes far beyond just recycling. Through our Eco Green Clubs, we provide training and mentorship to youth and students, empowering them with valuable skills in sustainable recycling and creative craftsmanship. This project doesn’t just help reduce environmental pollution; it also creates sustainable income opportunities, fostering entrepreneurship and economic empowerment in local communities.

With the recent grant that comes along with this award, we’re more excited than ever to take the Waste to Art initiative to new heights. We plan to enhance our products and expand our efforts to train even more young people across Malawi, equipping them with the skills needed to succeed in the circular economy. By doing so, we hope to inspire even greater environmental responsibility and economic resilience.

We owe a special thank you to our director, Martin Manyozo, whose visionary leadership has been integral to the success of this project. Martin’s dedication and hard work on behalf of the Clean Cities Project played a key role in earning this recognition, and we’re so proud of the work he’s done to bring our Waste to Art initiative to life.

We’d also like to extend our deepest gratitude to TotalEnergies, whose support has enabled us to continue making a tangible difference. Their investment in our mission has been invaluable, and we look forward to continuing this journey of sustainable change with their backing.

As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to the values of innovation, sustainability, and community empowerment. The Waste to Art initiative is more than just a project; it’s a movement that proves how creative solutions can tackle some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time.

Here’s to creating a cleaner, greener Malawi and a brighter future for the next generation of innovators. Thank you for being part of the journey — let’s keep making a difference together!
